![]() ![]() We figured maybe the private island would help, but we needed money, so we farmed mostly tier III materials and made what we could. So we went on an adventure to the nearest large city, which did indeed have the facilities we needed, but it’s a random mix of availability and can cost quite a bit to process Tier IV materials. We managed to branch out and find sources for the materials, but realized upon bringing them back that the refining and crafting facilities have their own tier, and the one in the starting town are Tier III, which means we can’t process, craft, or repair Tier IV things there. We ran into issues with the Adept (Tier IV) stuff pretty quick. We very quickly progressed to and through the Journeyman (Tier III) skills. The good news is that two gathering trees each is a pretty even split of labor, though leather is quite a bit slower due to the need to kill something before you can harvest it. Since I was doing mostly tools and those are pretty much exclusively wood and metal, that’s what I worked on. He was primarily gathering leather, with some occasional wood and cloth resources. When we started we had made some assumptions, like staves would be made from wood and leather, which turned out slightly incorrect. Specifically focusing the tools we were gathering with first, then later adding bags. My brother is doing mostly quarterstaff crafting, and I’ve been spread out mostly across the toolmaking tree. ![]() We have been working primarily on gathering and crafting. So I spoke about playing Albion online yesterday, and I’m going to follow up that post with what we actually went through after that was posted. Y’all take care, and don’t afk in PvP zones. This means more time gathering and less time running back and forth to town. You can stay out in the field for significantly longer, at least three or four times than you can with a donkey. On the bright side, with the ox and a full set of adept gathering gear, including a backpack that reduces resource weight, gathering goes a lot faster and smoother. I spent most of my day yesterday gathering iron, and I’ll spend most of tonight doing Chestnut and Pine, then I’ll do some crafting and pretty much repeat. Do this repeatedly, even if the profitability is a little low, just to get those skill ranks and slow push our way there. The reality of the situation is that we’re going to have to hang tight at T4, makes things, tear it down for research and/or sell it on the market board. I’m technically at the learning point for this skill, so I could dump the points and pick it up if I wanted to, but, well, that’s a lot of points. On top of that, even if I could make it, I wouldn’t be able to use it. It can also only be done in PvP enabled zones, so the risk is beginning to go up.Įven if I upgraded the facilities, I wouldn’t be able to craft any of the gear yet because I haven’t unlocked the T5 recipes. ![]() This is technically possible now, but gathering T5 materials with T4 gear will be… slow. The logical first step would be to go ahead and begin upgrading our facilities to handle the T5 resources. I just don’t think there’s going to be much else to talk about past this point. As such, I don’t expect there will be another post about Albion in the near future. So, it comes as no surprise that after the fairly quick start in Albion to get off the ground and running at the T4 level, I stopped to see what it takes to get up to T5 gathering, refining, and crafting.
